Interested in giving women's rugby a go? This open training session is the perfect opportunity to get a taste for rugby, have fun and meet the team.
Date: Sunday 26th January
Time: 2pm until 3/3.30pm
Location: Ipswich Rugby Club, Humber Doucy Lane, Ipswich, IP4 3PZ
Run by head coach Drew and senior coach Harvey, the 1.5 hour session will focus on introducing some rugby skills and learning the basics of the game. Like every session, fun is the name of the game and you can expect a friendly and supportive environment of likeminded women.
All you need are some trainers or boots suitable for grass and sports clothing you don't mind getting muddy. There's plenty of free parking and female toilets/changing rooms/showers in the clubhouse.
Our women's team is made up of 40+ players of all ages, from teenagers to middle aged women, and many are in their very first season of playing rugby. The team plays in the National Challenge One East having gained promotion last season, testament to the recruitment and progression of our women's section. The team enjoys plenty of social outings as well as training on Wednesday evenings and matches on Sunday afternoons.
